Materials Needed for Lesson:
- Computer with Google Earth
- Note cards
Introduction/Initiation/Hook:
- "Establishing Meaning" by providing basic TPR modeled vocabulary introduction. and creating discussion of student's personal travel experiences and real life insights
- "Asking the Story" of a traveler going to Ecuador therefore providing opportunities for students to apply the new vocabulary and solicit inquiry of deeper understanding of cultural and in-depth language fluency concepts
Teaching/Learning Activities:
- Introduce activity and split class into groups
- Explain Google Earth if needed
- Have volunteers act out tourism scenes with help of modeling
- Group scavenger hunt on Google Earth
